Hollywood glamour vs. art

Unlike her contemporaries in Hollywood, she really seems to enjoy what she is doing: being an actress and working hard to stay on top either choosing projects that close to her heart (arty) or films that will just pay her bills (commercial). This what separates Scarlett from other young celebrities in Hollywood.

The only time we get to hear bad press concerning Scarlett is when she changed her style like what did before she flew to Spain making her nose ring visible and a fake tattoo to scare the masses or her admirers.

We don’t hear that she’s a contender to rehab, drown herself in alcohol or take drugs in public, or never let others peep into her privacy. It is as if she only wants you to remember her films.

If she is caught in plain casual clothes, we are almost sure she is only acting. Anyway, what’s wrong with “ditching glamorous good looks“?

Scarlett’s Spanish movie

Like what we have gathered this week, Scarlett has flown to Spain to star in the new Woody Allen’s said to be “love letter” to the European country. If you were in Barcelona right now, you might have a chance to see the actress and the A-list director working on their new project.

Scarlett is Woody’s current flavour of the month. She was in his former films “Scoop” and “Matchpoint.” In the Spanish project, she plays as a tourist in Spain. Hence, images of her holding a camera. Would that be a real working (digital) camera????

According to the news, the shooting will take seven weeks. Aside from Barcelona, other locations will be a one-week stay in the northern Spanish region of Asturias and one day in New York.

Barcelona would be the second European city to feature in a full-length Allen movie.

Is Beyonce expecting?

These could all just be coincidences, but friends insisted that Beyonce would be delighted to be a mom.

Beyonce Knowles may have some secret big plans in the months a
head - motherhood. According to a source, Jay-Z’s arm candy may be expecting his baby. And there are unconfirmed reports that the Irreplacable singer has been acting differently lately, with the common denominator being a possible pregnancy.

A source close to Knowles reveals, “I have a sneaking suspicion that Beyonce may be pregnant. Don’t ask me why, but she’s been doing a lot of things that are making us suspicious. All of a sudden she’s going crazy about people smoking around her. She never used to be that way, so this is really out of the blue. She doesn’t even allow Jay Z to smoke a cigar in front of her.”

And that’s not all. Apparently Beyonce is saying no to booze. Not that she was ever an excessive drinker, but now she refuses to consume any alcohol.

“Beyonce hasn’t been having anything to drink - not even champagne.”

And what’s fuelling the rumours of the stork visiting Beyonce further is the fact that Beyonce’s given up on her diet regime.

“Beyonce has given up on her diet. She used to count every single calorie that she consumed. However, now she seems to be eating whatever she wants.”

These could all just be coincidences, but friends insisted that Beyonce would be delighted to be a mom.

Britney Spears kicks mom off her will!

Britney Spears has apparently kicked her mom Lynne Spears of all the benefits of being the mother of a famous (for wrong reasons) celebrity.

A birdie was quoted as saying that she has cut her mother out of her will and made her younger sister Jamie Lynn the benefactor of her estate and children, was seen playing with her new manny, Sean Preston and Jayden James over the weekend.

Harry Potter likes Scarlett

Daniel Radcliffe, better known as Harry Potter and everyone’s favourite teenager, cited Aishwarya Rai, Christina Ricci, Cameron Diaz, Scarlett and Ben Stiller as his favourite actors. Aside from adoring his idols, he didn’t like the Harry Potter books when he first read them. He also plays the bass guitar. Actor Gary Oldman taught him how to do it. And he is one of Britain’s richest teenager with an astonishing 23 million pounds as a fortune. Most of all, he doesn’t read himself on the gossips rags.
I am pretty sure Scarlett would be flattered.

Scarlett is in Spain

Scarlett has arrived in Barcelona, Spain.

According to Scarlett Fan, the actress might have flown to the Spanish city apparently on July 2 right after she was photographed in New York.

Remember those pictures in which she sported a golden nose ring and a coloured tattoo? Her styling clearly made a fuss. Some called it “radical” others hideous or awful.

Curiously speaking, Scarlett doesn’t look like wearing a septum ring on the Barcelona pics. But a few fans from The Skinny website attested that the actress has it for years. And in order for the piercing doesn’t close up she usually wears a clear ring. The reason we don’t see it now. Maybe.

Wearing an A-line light brown summer dress with floral prints, she said to have visited Barcelona’s cultural offerings. Scarlett must be very eager to start the film project. Variety reported that there is no name for Woody Allen’s film yet. Typically Spanish.com recently revealed that it is titled “Midnight in Barcelona.”

‘Fat’ Photos Jeopardize Jackson Keep-Fit DVD

Photos showing Janet Jackson has piled on the pounds look set to scupper her plans to release a fitness DVD.

The singer has history of food demons but showed off a svelte and toned figure for a 2006 video shoot.

She claimed at the time a healthy diet and exercise regime had helped her shed excess fat and vowed to make an inspirational keep-fit film insisting, “If I can do it, anyone can.”

However, photographs published in Friday’s newspapers tell a different story.

Taken poolside at her Miami mansion, they depict an out-of-shape Jackson in a shapeless T-shirt and sports pants to try and hide her widening figure.

Beyoncé to Star in Aida as Nubian Princess!

Aida is a musical drama in two acts based on Giuseppe Verdi’s Italian-language opera by the same name, which is in turn based on a story by Auguste Mariette. The musical was produced by Hyperion Theatricals, a unit within Disney Theatrical, with music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice, and book by Linda Woolverton, Robert Falls, and David Henry Hwang.

“The Mouse is reportedly already in talks with this pop diva, trying to convince Ms. Knowles to make ‘Aida’ her follow-up project to ‘Dreamgirls,’” says the site, adding, “Starring in the movie version of this Tony Award-winning musical should be a no-brainer for Beyoncé. Particularly since the show’s title role has proven to be such an effective showcase for chart toppers like Toni Braxton and Ms. Knowles’ fellow ‘Destiny’s Child’ survivor, Michelle T. Williams.”

In the story, a Nubian princess is captured by an Egyptian captain, Radames. He soon falls in love with her and saves her from a life of hard labor and instead gives her as a handmaiden to the Egyptian princess Amneris, his future bride. Set against a backdrop of loyalty, betrayal, and forbidden love, Aida is the story of three people who are forced to make difficult choices that will alter history forever.

How difficult is it for Pin-Ups to be Respectable Moms!

Pamela Anderson, has definitely come a long way from being practically anonymous girl-next-door in Canada to one of the most desirable pin-ups in the last two decades.

She has been through her share of problems to stand where she is. She had a price to pay for the fame she has got. She had to bold enough to shed clothes in public… and for a little bit of limelight, call it accident or whatever, had a home sex video leaked on the internet. Not just that… her raunchy photos are all over the internet, television and not forgetting her movies.

Her kids are growing up… and what image would they perceive of their mother who they see literally naked, as projected by the various media. Say if they grow a little more older… and find a friend talking ill about their mother… how would they react? They would no that obviously their mom is the least respectable person around… no matter how big a star she is and no matter how popular she is.

Another pin-up Nell McAndrew faces the similar problem… but she prefers going the Pamela way keeping her modeling pics out of sight of her son.

“I’d probably be like her [Pamela]. I have thought about it, like where he’ll go to school, will it affect him? she said.

Adding: “I don’t ever want my life to affect him. I hope it isn’t going to, but you don’t know how they’ll respond. Hopefully, he’ll just see me as his Mum, just like everybody else’s Mum.”

Ironically… when he would learn where all this fame and money comes from and what her career is all about… he wouldn’t see her like ‘everybody else’s mum’… because not everyone’s mum poses nude on camera!

Pamela Anderson turned forty in style on July 1st, partying in Vegas with ex-husband and

current beau Magician Hans Klok.

The bash was grand and so were the gifts. Tommy Lee surprised her by filling up her bedroom with pink balloons and matching flowers.

While Klok presented the actress with a rare gift.  He gave her an autographed copy of Harry Houdini’s only book, written in 1920.

A source said: “She made Tommy and photographer David LaChapelle touch Houdini’s autograph for luck and magic.”

That must have surely made the babe’s day!

Britney Spears has got a new Beau!

At one hand she is trying to mend broken fences with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, urging him to put his foot down with respect to the couple’s divorce proceedings. On the other hand she has a new man in her life.

Apparently her New Beau… John Sundahl, is a fellow recovering alcoholic who met Britney over the course of attending the same AA meetings.

He confessed,  “We are dating right now. I mean she is not moving in or anything but we are dating. It is serious,” he says.

He told press, “We live fairly close to each other. I go to her house… It is not something we have been hiding. She joked and told the tabloids we might be dating when she was asked directly about me.”

Brit even came to John’s aid when he was ailing from bowel surgery. “When I was in the hospital, she sat with me and held my hand all night long. She even sang and hummed to me while I was practically unconscious. I love being around her. She’s a sweet, caring girl and a good mom.”

My! My! What love… John Sundahl… who was, to be honest, completely anonymous until yesterday has been written about today. We have got his pictures with Britney posted on major celebrity blogs and magazines and why wouldnt John Sundahl love being around Britney Spears… even if he loathed her he would still prefer being around her… for obvious reasons though.

I was just wondering how long will this drama last!

Janet Jackson finds true love in Jermaine Dupri!

Janet Jackson after so many failed relationships and marriages seems to have found true love in Jermaine Dupri. She says that he loves her unconditionally and thats what keeps the spark between the two burning! He loved her the same way even when she became fat and ugly.

She recently told Grazia magazine: “Not once did he make me feel uncomfortable. He’d grab me, pull me around the stomach, look me in the eyes and say, ‘This needs love too!’”

“I thought that was the sweetest thing. I’ve never in my life had love that was so unconditional. My weight never affected my sex life. Nothing changed, nothing!”

Music World Entertainment Celebrates 2007?s Essence Festival

Mathew Knowles’ Music World Entertainment (MWE) will be showing out in full force at this year’s Essence Music Festival, the nation’s largest annual African-American event celebrating Black music and culture, with live performances by Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Solange Knowles, Sunshine Anderson and Trin-I-Tee 5:7. In addition, MWE will occupy a portion of the Wal-Mart booth where there will be merchandise for sale as well as an interactive Baby Jamz toy section where Mathew’s hip hop/rhythm inspired toy line for preschoolers will be featured daily.

Thursday, July 5, 2007 visit the Wal-Mart booth at the Convention Center and witness Trin-I-Tee 5:7 perform during Spirit Rising Music’s performance and booth signing from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Pastor Rudy Rasmus will be on hand to sign copies of his book “Touch” as well as Soulfruit, Brian C. Wilson and Ron Summers.

Friday, July 6, 2007 Beyoncé will headline the show at the Superdome on the main stage with an electrifying performance at 10:35 PM. This is the kickoff of “The Beyoncé Experience brought to you by Samsung and L’Oréal Paris” North American tour!

Later that evening, Solange Knowles will celebrate her 21st birthday New Orleans style at Generations Hall, 1 block from the convention center. Red carpet begins at 11:00 PM. There will be a special performance by Chrisette Michele and all night sounds provided by Q-Tip in the DJ booth! This is the second of two 21st birthday celebrations, the first taking place this past Saturday in Houston, Texas where hundreds of pounds of canned goods were raised by The Survivor Foundation on site and donated to Bread Of Life.

Saturday, July 7, 2007 Kelly Rowland takes the Superdome main stage at 7:30 PM to perform songs including her hit, “Like This,” from her brand new album released this week on July 3, 2007.

Later that evening at 8:00 PM, at the McDonald’s Super Lounge located at the Superdome, a very beautiful and pregnant Sunshine Anderson will be performing live. Special guest Solange Knowles will perform songs from her forthcoming sophomore album due out early 2008
