Cameron has landed a new role - as the guest editor of U.S. magazine National Geographic Kids’ first ‘Green Issue’. Environmental campaigner Diaz is pictured alongside a polar bear on the front cover of the publication’s October issue. And the 35-year-old uses her new editor role to give the magazine’s young readers some green tips. She writes: “I wash the plastic wrap after I use it, but I also do things like put a plate over the bowl instead of plastic wrap. “I just figure out how to do things differently so it’s better for the environment.”

Here’s a shot of our favorite heiress with her new man, Alex Vaggo. The two were spotted leaving the 16th Annual amfAR Rocks benefit Monday. Paris had arrived at the event alone.

Paris was introduced to Alex outside the USA Hostel (where he is currently sharing a room with six others for $27 a night!), and took an immediate liking to him. She plans to introduce him to Ford Models scouts this week. According to Paris’ rep, the two are “just friends.” Of course, we all know what that means…

How fast do you think Alex’s life will change, now that he’s met Paris? Will he get a modelling contract right away? I’ll bet he won’t spend many more nights staying in a $27-a-night hostel room with six other people!

EMA Nominations Out

Justin Timberlake is up for four awards at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 leading the nominations. Meanwhile Amy Winehouse, Avril Lavigne, Beyoncé, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Nelly Furtado and Rihanna all have three nominations each. Kanye West will again battle with Justice in the Video Star category- last year he threw a tantrum after losing the award to them. — Christina is nominated in ‘Solo Artist Of 2007′!

The ceremony takes place in Munich on November 1 and will be hosted by rapper Snoop Dogg.

Cruise holds minute of silence on World War II film set in Germany

BERLIN (AFP) - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise at the weekend observed a minute of silence for the slain German resistance hero he portrays in a new World War II film, the German press reported on Sunday.

Cruise made the respectful gesture before shooting a scene of “Valkyrie” at the historic Bendlerblock building in Berlin, where authorities originally refused to allow the crew to film, before reversing their ban 10 days ago.

“Scriptwriter Christopher McQuarie, director Bryan Singer and Tom Cruise each made a short speech and asked for a moment of silence” before filming began there on Saturday night, German actor Christian Berkel told Bild newspaper.

Cruise declared that he was “touched” to be at the site, which today is used by the defence ministry and is a national shrine, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported.

It added that nobody was allowed to eat or drink on the set.

Cruise portrays Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, an aristocratic officer who mounted a failed plot to kill Adolf Hitler in 1944 as Germany was losing the war, and was executed at the Bendlerblock along with his fellow conspirators.

The defence ministry said it gave the go-ahead for filming at the Bendlerblock after the filmmakers agreed to incorporate a scene showing that Germany had emerged from the evil of the Nazi regime to become a fully democratic country.

“Valkyrie” has been filming at locations in Berlin since July. It is due for release in 2008. (Source: Yahoo! News)

Britney Charged In a Hit-Run Case

Britney Charged In a Hit-Run Case Britney Spears has been charged in hit-run case and driving without a license.

According to the reports, on Aug 6 Britney struck a vehicle in a parking lot at 12800 Ventura Blvd in Studio City and then just drove away from that place.

It is said that a videotape has the whole incident captured and if convicted then Britney will be sentenced to jail for one year.

The L.A police investigated the case after a complaint was lodged by the owner of the car. The prosecutor had said that the driver was a singer and a subsequent check with the California Department of Motor Vehicles showed she has no California license.

Spears got a letter informing her of the charges and her case is scheduled for arraign on Oct 10th.

This is a very dangerous situation because Britney can be in jail for one year.
