Lopez To Be Dropped From Record Label?

» Jennifer Lopez is facing the axe from her record label after disappointing sales of her latest album Brave. The seventh studio effort from the Get Right hitmaker was released last month and sold a mere 53,000 copies in its first week, prompting reports the Latina would be dropped by Epic Records, a subsidiary of Sony BMG.

The label is reportedly fed up with Lopez’s poor record sales and the extravagant costs to maintain the artist, including an album cover that cost GBP30,000 and a make-up fee of nearly GBP4,000 for each promotional appearance. An source at Epic Records says, “(Lopez) costs too much money and doesn’t sell enough. The woman requires everything short of flying monkeys to get on a stage.”

Roberto Cavalli Confirms Jennifer Lopez Is Expecting

» The cat is out of the bag, or as fashion vixens may want to say, the seams have been let out of the dress – renowned designer Roberto Cavalli has confirmed Jennifer Lopez is expecting. In an interview with People, Cavalli let J. Lo’s baby news slip, news she has kept mum on since rumors began circulating months ago that she was with child.

The confirmation came when People asked the designer what types of clothing he creates for his celebrity clientele. “Well Jennifer Lopez, at this moment, she requests something very special because she is waiting for the baby,” he said. The designer continued on, noting that he is faced with tough fashion choices because of J. Lo’s expanding tummy. “It is so complicated because every week she is getting bigger,” he said.

Cavalli isn’t the first designer to spill a celebrity baby secret. Earlier this year, Naomi Watts’ publicly unconfirmed news was broken by Escada on Oscar night, who released a statement suggesting their dress “set off her most precious new asset… the baby she is expecting with longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber.”

Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears Ignored by Radio

FOXnews » They may be getting headlines, but Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears are being ignored by radio stations. According to Radio and Records, the publication and Web site that monitors airplay of hit records, both Lopez’s “Do it Well” and Spears’ “Gimme More” are at the bottom of the Top 40 charts and almost nonexistent at dance or disco-oriented stations.

On top of that, Lopez’s album, “Brave,” which debuted on Tuesday, has fallen to No. 87 on Amazon.com. And even though the single “Do It Well” is in the 80s on iTunes for downloading, the album has managed to climb up to No. 13 right now on the digital music site.

Hitsdailydouble.com predicts that physical sales of “Brave” will be a mere 55,000 to 60,000 copies this week. Digital sales won’t do much for it.
