Birthday girl Nicole Richie and fiancee Joel Madden were in Hawaii to celebrate her 26th b-day yesterday. She looks very healthy and seems to be enjoying life now. In honor of this joyous day, I will also post her full biography plus a picture from her special day:

Nicole Camille Escovedo was born in Berkeley, California, on September 21, 1981. Her biological parents were Peter Michael Escovedo, a member of Lionel Richie’s band and brother to ’80s pop percussionist Sheila E., and an anonymous backstage assistant.

Today is Nicole Richie’s 26th Birthday, I am so glad to share in the joy of her birthday. I don’t know how the world would be without you, you are just a gem. And pretty soon, she will have the greatest joy of life, a child and I hope that she is happy today, of all days!

So apparently, Joel and Nicole are to get married sometime in the next few months, I assume. It would be romantic for it to be a New Years wedding or maybe even a Christmas wedding; I guess only time will tell.

Although the pair do want to walk down the aisle, it won’t be this month as reports have claimed.

Lil’ mama-to-be Nicole Richie caused serious problems outside Fred Segal on Saturday — but this time, she didn’t do anything wrong.

The cops gave up, and Richie took off without incident. Later in the day, paparazzi spotted her again, and left an opening in the crowd for her passage. Pregnancy has its perks.

The pet survived a 10-story fall from the socialite’s apartment last year (06), but baby comes first for The Simple Life star. Friends claim she has given her pet to dad Lionel Richie for safe keeping until she gives birth. A pal says, “She loves her cat but can’t stand to be around it right now.”

Robert Smith, a Hollywood publicist, has recently produced a blank 60-page booklet called “The Nicole Richie Cookbook,” and although he is reaping some benefits- he mostly is getting negative feedback. Nicole’s fans are outraged that he would attack her in such a manner and are striking back. He has received emails saying that what he did was insensitive to people with eating disorders and plans to donate all the proceeds to an eating-disorder charity.

Nicole Richie showed up, yesterday, to support, one of her favorite fashion designers, Max Azria at a fashion show in Bryant Park, NYC. It was part of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for the 2008 Spring collection.

There have reports by some people that state that Richie’s baby bump has been up and down each week - and that she’s not really pregnant! Now that would be a shocker, but I do not believe it- just some nasty rumor being spread- I precaution to take it with a grain of salt.
