Tom and Katie Spend Time With Their Rising Stars
May 18, 2008
After their weekend of fun with the Beckhams at the Galaxy game, Tom and Katie took Suri to Hollywood for more sibling fun times. The trio headed to the set of Seven Pounds to catch Connor in action for his big movie debut. Suri is no stranger to movie sets but maybe seeing her big brother getting involved will inspire her to catch the acting bug too! (Source: Popsugar)

Suri Cruise Puts on Her Dancing Shoes
Sounds like Suri Cruise might be ready to be a star already. Tom and Katie brought their fashionable 2-year-old to tap class in LA yesterday. Look at those tap shoes — so adorable and the perfect addition to her growing collection. After a week of visiting Connor on set — not to mention her, uh, parents in the business — little Suri’s already honing her own talent. While a tap class full of 2-year-olds sounds pretty precious all around, I bet little Suri stole the show.(Source: Popsugar)

A star is born: Tom and Katie take baby Suri to tap-dancing class
May 17, 2008
Tom and Katie have enrolled Suri in tap-dancing class.
Pictured with her mother on their way to the lesson in Hollywood, Suri made sure to wear the appropriate footwear as her newfound skill will surely be an added bonus to the family’s existing acting abilities.

Katie Holmes looked her usual yummy-mummy self in casual purple top and jeans as she doted on her daughter.
Proud father Tom Cruise followed behind as both parents appear to be taking an active role in Suri’s life.

Tom Cruise in 28th Amendment
May 15, 2008
Moviehole.net seems to be sure that Tom is on this movie:
The rumours are true : Tom Cruise is in talks to star in the new Phillip Noyce flick, “28th Amendment”, Moviehole can confirm today.
You’ll never guess who he’s set to play? The US President. (It was only a matter of time before Suri’s Pop took over the Country).
Cruise would play President Ben Cahill in Warners action thriller, which follows the adventures of an American President (Cruise) that discovers the United States is actually being controlled by a super secret organization (run by Denzel Washington) that terminates those that get in its way.
The deal should be official in a few days.
From Coming Soon:
Moviehole says it has confirmed that Tom Cruise is in talks to star in director Phillip Noyce’s thriller 28th Amendment.
Written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the story centers on U.S. president Ben Cahill (Cruise) who discovers that a secret committee (run by Denzel Washington) has controlled the U.S. government since WWII.
This hidden power structure assassinates potential troublemakers to serve its own needs, and having made the discovery, the president now finds himself in the firing line.

Tom, Katie & kids take in a game
May 14, 2008
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes turned out to cheer on LA Galaxy at their home match at the weekend.
But it seems the celebrity couple was not only there to enjoy the football.
With David Beckham on the pitch and Victoria away on fashion duties, Tom and Katie appeared to have been roped into babysitting for their celebrity friends.
TomKat kept a close eye throughout the game on the Beckham boys, 9-year-old Brooklyn, 5-year-old Romeo and 3-year-old Cruz.
The happy family also brought along their daughter two-year-old daughter Suri, and Tom’s adopted kids, 15-year-old Isabella and 13-year-old Connor.
But the enthusiastic cheers from the box at the Home Depot Center were not enough to see the home side triumph. The New York Red Bulls scored a 2-1 Major League Soccer victory over LA Galaxy. (Source: Faded Youth Blog)

‘Valkyrie’ delayed a second time
May 12, 2008
The Hollywood studio United Artists, which is partly owned by Cruise, will not release the new film until February next year nearly eight months after it was first scheduled to appear.
For Valkyrie, Cruise wields an eye patch and a German accent to play Claus von Stauffenberg, a Nazi colonel who plotted the only known assassination attempt against Hitler.
It has postponed the release to allow Bryan Singer, its director, more time to shoot three scenes. The release was previously pushed back from June to October because Singer had not shot a battle scene that explained how Claus von Stauffenberg, Cruise’s character, lost a hand and an eye in North Africa. Following that incident, von Stauffenberg returned to Germany and hatched a conspiracy, dubbed Operation Valkyrie, to blow up Hitler with a bomb in his bunker to bring a swift end to the war.
Producers initially planned to film the battle somewhere outside the U.S., but that plan was scrapped for unspecified reasons. Instead United Artists – which is run by Cruise and partner Paula Wagner – is searching for a new locale within the US.
“We wrapped our production in Germany in October, but there was a desert sequence that needed to be prepped and the location finalized,” explains UA spokesman Dennis Rice.
“But with all the schedules and logistics we won’t be able to shoot that until the end of February. We wanted to do what’s right [in terms of marketing] and not put Bryan in a jam, so we said let’s postpone it.” Telegraph.co.uk

Tom Cruises In for Connor’s Contracts
April 27, 2008
It’s a very risky business, after all.
It seems the casting of Tom Cruise’s son, Connor, in the upcoming Will Smith movie Seven Pounds was even a surprise to costar Rosario Dawson—that is, until a certain Hollywood top gun showed up one day.
The actress tells E! News that while the story about Connor’s involvement in the flick just went public a few days ago, she’s known for quite some time, and recalls how she first found out.
“I think it’s actually really funny. During rehearsals, Tom walks in, and I’m like, OK, I guess they’re just having a visit,” says Dawson.
“And then his son was there, and he’s like, ‘No, he’s actually playing the younger version of Will, and he was there to sign his contracts. It was hilarious. And Tom was just like, ‘Yeah, make sure you read the fine
print.’ ”
That’s one lion looking out for his lamb. (E! Online)

Connor Cruise Is Making His Big Screen Debut
April 22, 2008
Isn’t this awesome?
Following in his parents’ footsteps, Connor Cruise will make his film debut in the upcoming Will Smith drama Seven Pounds, PEOPLE has learned.
Connor, 13 – who has grown up around movie sets with mom Nicole Kidman and dad Tom Cruise – will play a young version of Smith in a very minor role. Even with such famous acting mentors in his corner, Connor had to audition for the part.
“Tom is so proud of Connor,” says a source. “He’s proud of him for really doing this on his own.”
The Columbia Pictures film, which is still in production, also costars Woody Harrelson and Rosario Dawson.

Cruise presents Campbell with Will Rogers award & pictures
April 21, 2008

Friday, April 18, 2008
Regal Entertainment Group Chairman and CEO Mike Campbell received the Pioneer of the Year award Wednesday night in Santa Monica, Calif., from the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation.
Campbell, who entered the movie theater business in 1982 in Claiborne County, formed Regal Cinemas Inc. in 1989 and has grown the Knoxville-based company to become the world’s largest theater chain.
Campbell was recognized for contributions to the film industry and was presented with the Pioneer of the Year award by actor Tom Cruise during a ceremony at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The event raised $1.2 million for the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation and the proceeds will go to the Pioneers Assistance Fund to help motion picture industry veterans in need.
“I was certainly grateful and humbled by the award, but neither Regal nor I do what we do for the recognition. We do it because it is the right thing to do,” Campbell said Thursday.
Past Pioneer of the Year honorees have included Cecil B. DeMille, Jack Warner, Darryl F. Zanuck, Jack Valenti, Sumner Redstone and Sherry Lansing.
Campbell’s family and many Regal executives attended the presentation, which included entertainment by actor/comedian Kevin Pollack and music by John Fogerty.
“The entertainment was terrific. The highlight of the evening was Tom Cruise’s presentation of the Pioneer of the Year award to Mike Campbell,” said Regal spokesman Dick Westerling.
In his introduction of Campbell, Cruise pointed to characteristics the two have in common, including a passion for movies, meager backgrounds growing up and vows to help others less fortunate.
“Through hard work and determination, he turned a small business with one theater into the largest movie theater chain in the world,” Cruise said of Campbell. “He also revolutionized fundraising by being the first theater chain to promote to customers that Regal would donate a portion of the chain’s concession sales to charity. Not only did it improve concession sales, but it enabled Regal to raise over $14 million in the last 10 years on behalf of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Foundation.” (Source: Knox News)

The studio has signed Moore to create and write an original sci-fi trilogy for the big screen.
Moore is an executive producer of “Battlestar Galactica,” whose April 4 season premiere attracted more than 2 million viewers — 40% more than the Season 3 finale.
His writing credits include the features “Star Trek: Generations” and “Star Trek: First Contact” as well as episodes of “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Roswell” and “Carnivale.” He also received a story credit on Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible II.”
